August 6, 2020 – Los Angeles – L.A. Wolves FC is excited to announce that Philip Hephzibah has been invited for a trial with The New Saints FC of Oswestry Town & Llandantffraid Football Club.

Hephzibah, who dominated as the starting forward for the L.A. Wolves FC during the UPSL Academy Division 2019 Fall Season, has been invited for a 10-day trial at the New Saints FC, which represents Oswestry in Shropshire, England, and Llansantffraid-ym-Mechain in Powys, Wales, two communities separated by 8 miles.

L.A. Wolves FC President Yan Skwara said, "Congratulations to Philip on being chosen by the New Saints FC in England for a trial. Opportunities come in all shapes and sizes, and Philip has the skills and talent to allow him the chance at a professional football career. We wish him the very best in his upcoming professional trial as Philip has earned this opportunity for himself because he is a great player with lots of talent."

L.A. Wolves FC General Manager and Head Coach Mike Asfall said, "Philip has been with us the last two years and he he's been a big asset for the club's program. Philip is very strong, very fast, and he's a smart player. He doesn't go into tackle half-(hearted). He has a very high soccer IQ."

Hephzibah, 19, was born in England but is a long-time resident of Los Angeles, CA, and recent graduate of Inglewood, CA's Animo Leadership. He has played with L.A. Wolves FC for more than two years, and was a CIF-Southern Section Boys Division V All-Star Game selection in 2019.

L.A. Wolves FC Forward Philip Hephzibah said, "It was really mind-blowing actually because once I got the text saying I got a call from The New Saints FC in Europe, and that was one of my biggest dreams, to play in Europe, so once I got that message my heart soared. I hope to make the team. I want to show that I can be a player of that level. I've been training hard and so I need to show I'm ready for the next level. I'd like to thank L.A. Wolves FC and Club President Yan Skwara and General Manager Mike Asfall for the opportunity to play for L.A. Wolves."

A dual national, Hephzibah recently attended a tryout in Washington, DC, for D.C. United (MLS), and was reportedly spotted by The New Saints FC scouts there.

The New Saints FC is the champions of the top professional division in Wales, the Cyrmu Premier. The club has won the last eight consecutive season titles, and have claimed a record 13 championships overall.
